Celebrating love in the mountains

Your love deserves the very best. Whether forming a snow-capped winter wonderland, or covered by a forest of stunning green trees amidst blooming wildflowers, the mountains of Whistler are the perfect backdrop for your once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Simply stepping out the front door of any of our suites and onto the paths of Whistler will take your breath away and instill everlasting memories. Here’s a few of our tips for making your occasion extra special:

Plan to stay a little longer… Spend a few days before and after your big day, to enjoy special moments with your loved ones and indulge in home-cooked meals around the dining table in your fully equipped vacation rental homes.

Feel like you’re on top of the world… Leading up to the day of your nuptials, do something fun as a couple or a whole family and forget the stress of the occasion. Rent out some cross-country skis and go for a wander through the forest, have a ski day topped off with Apres, or ride with Canadian Wilderness Adventures up to their alpine hut by snowcat for a sunset fondue dinner. In the warmer months, take a gondola up to the top of the mountain for a picnic, rent out some paddle boards and hang out by one of the beautiful lakes, or take a leap of another kind and go bungee jumping!

Pamper yourself… Make sure to get the right amount of ‘you’ time. That might mean for the bride – taking family members and bridesmaids to the Scandinave Spa for massages and to soak in the hot and cold baths. For the groomsmen, maybe a round of golf in the warmer months, or renting some ATV’s. For winter we recommend booking a snowmobile tour. The separate parties could then meet up after their day: some tapas and cocktails at Bar Oso would be the perfect ending!

Unique Whistler experiences… Put the Whistler touch on your wedding vacation. At the Bearfoot Bistro you can take part in champagne sabering in the underground wine cellar, or enter their Belvedere Vodka Ice Room. Head to Function Junction and flex your muscles at Forged Axe Throwing before trying some local ales at Coast Mountain Brewing. Join forces with the entire wedding party and do your best to escape the various themed rooms at Escape! Whistler.

Post-wedding chill… The best part of a vacation wedding is that generally, guests don’t have to go home once the wedding’s over. So, catch up with all the people you didn’t spend enough time with on the big day, by spending the next day with them (after a sleep in). If you plan enough in advance, you can book the day at Rainbow Park with BBQs, chairs and tables in the beautiful summer time sun. There, they have slacklines set up and beach volleyball as well as a spectacular beach around Alta Lake. For winter wonderland weddings, book a brunch at one of the restaurants such as the Wildflower, then rent some snowshoes for a group adventure or book a sleigh ride tour.
