During March the 2010 Winter Paralympic Games were held in the Whistler BC Canada area. For 9 days from March 12th to the 28th, both athletes and members of the community came together to celebrate the Paralympic spirit during the games. Whistler Blackcomb resort hosted the Alpine events on Whistler mountain above Creekside. Whistler Olympic Park located in the Callaghan Valley hosted the Cross Country and Biathlon events during the games. There was a nightly series of awards ceremonies and entertainment performances held at Whistler Medals Plaza during the 9 days of the Paralympic games.
The Paralympic Part Of Whistler's History
Whistler resort has a very long history and now the Paralympic Games will play an important part of the overall community development. The facilities of Whistler resort were expanded upon before the 2010 Winter Paralympic games. These facilities still remain and are available to the general public.
