229 CM Snow Base At Whistler Blackcomb Resort

The skiing and boarding this weekend at Whistler Blackcomb was nothing short of amazing, with pillows and powder runs almost everywhere you looked. Friday brought us 23 cm and Sunday brought us another 28 cm, giving us a total snowfall of 613 cm (over 20 feet) and a base of 229 cm! Historically our average snowfall by January 31st has been 587 cm – meaning we are already 26 cm above average with a full week to go.

On top of these already amazing snowfalls the forecast is looking very promising as another storm front is moving in for tomorrow. We are expecting accumulations of 15-30 cm on Tuesday and 10-20 cm on Wednesday. The freezing level is expected to rise a bit on Tuesday to 1500 m but should drop back down to the village by Thursday.
