November 11, 2012 was Remembrance Day in Whistler village when the fallen soldiers of the past are honored by wearing red poppies. It was a quiet and well spoken ceremony at 11:00 AM on a cold November morning when members of the community gathered to pay tribute to the war time sacrifices of the past. The theme of the annual ceremony is “Lest We Forget” and it is the call to remember the past and make better times in the future. The community of Whistler remembers and always marks the Remembrance Day date each year with a compassionate and honorable ceremony.
