The 2012 Splashdown freestyle event on Blackcomb mountain is a fun Summer party event. It is held towards the end of the Blackcomb glacier Summer season when many campers and professional athletes participate in the social competition. The skiers launch from a ramp and do freestyle tricks over the water pool. This a very relaxed style of freestyle skier competition that is presented by Momentum Camps from Whistler. There is a rocking DJ and lots of dancing into the late afternoon. The photo below is a professional athlete showing the crowd how it is done during the 2012 Splashdown event on July 18, 2012.
