Enough snow has melted at the Callaghan Valley to allow 4×4 vehicles to drive all of the way to the lake picnic area. This is a quiet and scenic area that the entire family can enjoy on a sunny Summer afternoon. The Callaghan Valley Lake is glacier fed so it stays very cold during all seasons. The glacier makes this area stay nice and cool during the warm Summer months. It is a surreal place that is surrounded by old growth forest and beautiful mountains. The photo below of Callaghan Valley Lake was taken on July 6, 2012.
