The Whistler Olympic Park hosted the 2012 Tough Mudder event during June and it was a long, hard, challenging experience for all participants. Many different styles of obstacles were built on the course that went for many kilometers around the Callaghan Valley. Hundreds of participants entered the event and challenged the difficult obstacle course. The highlight of the outdoor obstacle course was the snow slide down into the glacier fed lake. This was an extreme experience for people who were not expecting to see that much snow during the month of June. The Callaghan Valley stays cool during the Summer season due to the local glaciers. This made the 2012 Tough Mudder event a very unique one with excellent old growth forest surroundings.
