As of May 7, 2012 the skiing and snowboarding still goes right to the base of Blackcomb mountain in the Upper Village area of Whistler resort. This is amazing considering how far into the warm Spring season May 7th is. Whistler Blackcomb appears to be using their grooming machines to push snow to the base of Blackcomb Mountain to still make it plausible to ski or snowboard down to the Solar Coaster chair. This allows for very convinient parking at the Base 2 parking lot. Whistler Blackcomb currently has the 7th Heaven area open along with the freestyle terrain park. There are excellent ski and snowboard conditions in the upper alpine elevations of Blackcomb mountain.
