Big Hip Snowboarding Event

During the 2012 Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival the Big Hip Snowboard event was held in Whistler village. This is when they build a jump larger than you thought possible, then allow a pack of about 30 snowboarders to do freestyle jumps off of it. This is a free event to watch from either the village or the lower slopes of Whistler mountain. Thousands of people come out to watch the action as the athletes compete for the prize money and the entertainment performs on the main stage. The Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival is an annual event held in Whistler village and on Blackcomb Mountain Terrain Park. You will enjoy your vacation in Whistler during the Spring season when you attend the various events at this festival that combines action sports and music. Make sure to check the schedule of upcoming events online before you arrive at the resort.
