Snowshoeing is the easiest way to see the sights in Whistler, and several local companies offer rentals and guided tours for beginners.
Ice Skating
Rinks at the Meadow Park Sports Centre and the Edgewater Outdoor Centre in Green Lake offer novices and pros a chance to skate.
Cross Country Skiing
A fantastic economical option for familes, Whistler has several groomed trails for all ages and abilities. Visit Lost Lake park for an idyllic setting and 32 kilometers of groomed trails or venture out to Callaghan Valley - one of the 2010 Winter Olympic Game venues.
Tube Park
Located in the Base 2 Zone on Blackcomb Mountain, the Coca-Cola Tube Park offers fun and thrills for all. The Whistler Blackcomb Coca-Cola Tube Park has eight lanes varying in difficulty from green to blue to black. Lanes are 1000 feet long and there is a conveyor belt which makes travelling to the top easy!
Meadow Park Sports Centre
Pools - The kid's pool features a lazy river, vortex, spouting bears and more. The 25 meter, 6 lane lap pool features a rope swing, 8 foot slide and basketball net. There is also a hot tub, steam room and sauna. Towels are available to rent.
Arena - Public skating sessions feature a "game zone" on the NHL-sized ice surface. Skate rentals are available, as are helmets and push bars.
Fitness - The 4500 square foot fitnexx centre offers free weights, plate-loaded machines, Cybed selectorized machines and more. The cardio area includes a large variety of treadmills, step machines, elliptical trainers, spin & stationary bikes and rowers. Scheduled group fitness classes are offered as well.
Squash - Call ahead to book a 45 minute court time on one of the two squash courts. Rqcquet rentals, goggles and balls are available.
